About
The Self-Test Exchangeable Unit enables the NextGen system to be fully tested. The self-test software can be specifically configured to the peripheral card set installed in the customers NextGen system and can be easily upgraded if/when the customer adds features/cards.
Unlike many other functional testers that use digital loop back self-test mechanisms and/or unloaded lines, the NextGen Self-Test Exchangeable measures everything as ‘analogue’ values and under load. This has the advantage that high resistance cables/joints are easily identified and not missed.
The Self-Test Exchangeable can be quickly inserted, just like all exchangeable units, thus encouraging regular self-testing and keeping the NextGen system performance validated over time. This is backed-up by easy to use software which gives detailed reports that are date and time stamped so results can be easily referred back to and/or tracked over time.
A conveniently placed service plate can be removed to give access to audit test points which enables customers to check the measurement performance to an external reference device. This helps the Self-Test Exchangeable fit with customers own internal calibration/audit processes. If required, the customer could even calibrate the self-test unit to further improve the measurement performance and maintain the performance over time.
