About
The J-Testr HV Relay Peripheral Card provides the user with 16 high-voltage uncommitted relay contacts which can be controlled from either Ethernet (via the J-Tester system bus) or directly from the JTAG bus thus giving the user ultimate flexibility. The ability to be controlled from the JTAG bus, when required, means the user is able to fully utilize the powerful IO testing features provided by many boundary scan testing tools.
The 16 relays can be extended to 32 via a low cost extension card which plugs into the extension connector using a standard ribbon cable. The extension card takes up another peripheral slot, anywhere required, within the same peripheral bank as the HV Relay Card itself. The relays are rated for voltages up to 240Vac (200Vdc) with non-switching currents up to 2 amps and switching currents up to 1 amp.
The reed relays used are designed for long life and specifically for the test and measurement industries. The relays characteristics have extremely high isolation resistances exceeding 100GOhm, whist maintaining a very low cross switch capacitance of under 1pF (0.1pF Typical).
Finally, as with all bus connected peripherals, the ADC/DAC peripheral provides 8 general purpose User IOs which can be used to control and/or read custom circuitry on the interposer. The IOs can provide special hardware functions such as 16-bit PWM, UART, SPI, I2C and GPSM (General Purpose Signal Monitor for measuring freq/duty/pulse-width etc.) that can be multiplexed to any of the IO pins.
